MERFREY HELP FOUNDATION (NGO Benin)
It was an exceptional day in the history of MERFREY HELP FOUNDATION as it marked the opening of her head office at Ekehaun road in Benin city, and it witnessed dignitaries from the Peace pact, University of Benin and National Agency For Prohibition Of Traffic In Persons(NAPTIP).
The NGO's CEO, Mrs. Mercy Omovbude started the NGO some years back with the vision to create a healthy environment, restore dignity to individuals, prevent human trafficking. The NGO with two branches in Benin as six units which comprise of the: Elderly unit, Medical unit, Anti-human trafficking unit, Media or publicity unit, Crafts unit, Youth initiative unit.
The NGO is fully committed to humanitarian activities at both the state and local level by providing scholarship to the less priviledged, providing skill acquisition programs for people of all ages and helping the widows and widowers.
One of the MERFREY's daughters was also present at the occasion, in person of Ms. Chinaza, a young lady who ran to the MERFREY organisation for help after her boyfriend rejected her for refusing to terminate her pregnancy. The representative of NAPTIP commended Ms. Chinaza for her bravery in refusing to be intimidated or allowed anyone persuade her to leaving the country as thr rave of the community is leaving the country illegally when faced with situations like this.
MERFREY organisation is open to helping everyone regardless of tribe, age, skin colour or religion. They believe a society where everyone can live a good and normal life is possible.
